(Spain).- The iGaming sector is a legal industry in Spain, and is regulated by an entity DGOJ thanks to the Law 13/2011, May 27th. This online business has not stopped growing since 2012, both it the number of registered users and legal operators, although the latest DGOJ reports show a little setback compared to last year.
According to the report published by DGOJ, during the first three months of 2019, iGaming generated a 4.17% of transactions reaching 4,6 billion euros. This number reached 4,8 billion euros in October, November and December 2018.
However, if we focus on the quarter GGR (total number of bets minus the money dedicated to prizes), it reaches 193.25 million euros. It represents a 20% growth compared to the same quarter last year, and a 2.14% increase compared to the previous quarter.
With regard to categories, the 52.18% is related to sportsbooks (football specially), a 34.72% to casino games, a 10.96% to poker, the 1.66% to bingo and a 0.49% to contests.
The favorite market of Spanish players is sportsbooks, and they experimented an annual variation of 26.22%, mainly due to the live match sports forecasts that increased a 11.48%. Bingo was the activity that had the greatest decrease (an 8.60%) compared to the first quarter last year.
How to monetize online betting
iGaming is one of the favorite digital entertainment of Spanish Internet users. In order to monetize forecasts, on top of gambling in a legal online platform, a series of aspects have to be considered: Before choosing an operator, you have to check its products and services (markets, payment systems, customer attention, etc).
As this sector is so competitive, operators constantly release promotions for new players as well as already registered players, which, among other benefits, offer money for free.
Before accepting any offer it is mandatory to read its Terms and Conditions, in order to get to know the validity of the promotion, the greatest winnings that can be obtained and how to release the winning generated.
In the case of sportsbooks, according to the Spanish players, the most profitable forecasts are those related to football, tennis and basket. It is very important to have a complete information on sportsmen and/or teams, in order to have more chances of success.
Currently, the best Spanish operators offer a Mobile version or an App of their services and products so users may perform their bets from their mobile phone or tabler at any time, anywhere.
