(Málaga).- A hundred representatives of companies and institutions related to the online gaming sector in Spain gathered tonight at the VIII edition of the Jdigital Awards, which were held in Málaga, a city that in recent years has positioned itself as pole of attraction for companies in the technology sector.

Since they began in 2014, the Jdigital Awards are the reference event and meeting point for the sector on a national scale, recognizing and giving visibility to the people and entities that work every day for the growth and improvement of the industry. The gala, which was attended by operators, service providers, institutional representatives from Ceuta and Melilla, and the media, was hosted by the psychiatrist and monologist Luis Gutiérrez Rojas.
The general director of Jdigital, Jorge Hinojosa, showed his satisfaction and gratitude during the evening. “We are very happy to be able to recognize and celebrate for another year the great work and commitment that characterizes the online gaming sector in our country. The closing of the previous legislature, undoubtedly challenging, and the beginning of the current one offers us a unique opportunity to strengthen the positioning of Jdigital and the Spanish online gaming ecosystem and join forces in the face of the regulatory challenges that lie ahead.”
The top representative of Jdigital stressed the importance of southern Spain for online gaming and the digital economy as a whole. "At Jdigital we want to highlight and thank the work that Ceuta, Melilla and Malaga are carrying out, cities that are becoming reference technological hubs in southern Europe and that are actively committed to leading companies in the gaming industry and from other tech sectors to settle in their territories, thus attracting young talent and boosting the economy of the area,” he highlighted. “We also want to especially thank the authorities and political institutions of Ceuta and Melilla for their involvement in celebrating the Awards,” he concluded.
"It is a pride to be able to collect the 'Institution of the Year' award, which ratifies the commitment of Ceuta and its economic and institutional fabric to the technology industry and specifically that of online gaming," said the president of the autonomous city of Ceuta, Juan Vivas. “Our medium-term objective is to attract a greater number of companies in the sector and thus promote the economic growth of the region through the promotion of young and international talent,” he added.
