(Limassol).- Established by the owner of the global trademark 1xBet, the organization aims to bring together research, education, technology, and player well-being under a single framework.

1xCare Launches Responsible Gambling and Player Protection Initiative

New project focused on player protection

1xCare has officially launched as an initiative dedicated to advancing player protection, responsible gambling, and harm prevention across the global gambling industry.

Mission centred on evidence and collaboration

1xCare's mission is to promote responsible gambling through evidence-based research, educational initiatives, innovative technologies, and partnerships across the gambling ecosystem.

The initiative also aims to become a recognised centre of excellence for responsible gambling worldwide.

"Responsible gambling is not a slogan; it is a duty"

“Responsible gambling is not a slogan; it is a duty,” said Simon Westbury, Chairperson. “1xCare was created to support a more informed, transparent, and sustainable gambling ecosystem — one where player protection and well-being are central.”

Four pillars guide the initiative

1xCare's activities are organised around four key areas:

Research Hub — Supporting studies on gambling behaviour, addiction risks, and emerging technologies, while promoting transparent public reporting.

EduCare — Developing responsible gambling education programmes, awareness campaigns, and ethical standards across operators, sports, and communities.

TechShield — Advancing technologies designed for early risk detection and safer player experiences.

Support & Well-Being — Expanding access to counselling services, helplines, and support programmes through grants and partnerships with specialist organisations.

Collaboration with industry stakeholders

The initiative will operate with dedicated governance structures, including an advisory committee, and plans to publish regular impact reports on its activities and funded projects.

"Built to contribute, not to compete"

“1xCare is built to contribute, not to compete,” Westbury added.

“We look forward to working alongside existing experts and organisations that share the goal of better protecting players and building greater trust in the industry.”
