(Douglas).- The leading sportsbook and iGaming software provider boosts its first year of local operations by bringing in an experienced industry specialist to drive growth and build regional partnerships.
Altenar, a global leader in sportsbook and iGaming software, has reinforced its strategic expansion in South Africa by appointing Brendon Jeacocks as its new Regional Director.
Jeacocks joins Altenar with more than eight years of experience across the online gaming sector, particularly in finance, regulation, and compliance. Before serving as an independent consultant for major South African iGaming brands, he previously held the role of Financial Manager at African operator SportPesa.
This appointment follows Altenar’s acquisition of a National Manufacturer Licence from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in December 2024. The licence enables the company to deliver its sportsbook technology to certified operators within South Africa and across additional African markets.
As Regional Director, Jeacocks will be responsible for accelerating Altenar’s growth by strengthening its local footprint. The company already offers premium data feeds, a localised sports portfolio, and a dedicated mobile-first app designed to meet the needs of South African bettors.
John Quaye, CFO at Altenar, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Brendon as he develops our on-the-ground presence in South Africa. His deep understanding of the market will be instrumental as we embark on our first year as a licensed provider in the region. Brendon is uniquely positioned to build strong partnerships and help us refine our product offering to meet the increasing demand for localised sports betting solutions.”
Brendon Jeacocks, Regional Director of Altenar, said:
"I’m pleased to be joining Altenar at such an exciting time for the company’s ambitions in Africa. I’m currently based in Cape Town and will serve as the local point of contact for our operations here. I look forward to helping to develop Altenar's presence in South Africa and connecting with the rest of the industry."
