An Update from SBTech COO Dave Hammond
⏱ 2 min read
(Bulgaria).- In light of the evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and its impact on general working practices and of course important sporting calendar, with a key focus on ensuring that our 1,200+ team remain safe and that our 50+ Partners are kept informed of our plans throughout this pandemic.
Our Employees
We put employee health and wellbeing at the centre of our approach, and with the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 changing almost daily, we have already taken proactive actions to make sure the teams are ready for any contingency planning or change of operational state.
SBTech is an international company, with offices in Israel, Ukraine, Bulgaria, the UK, Malta, Gibraltar and the US. The international spread of our staff offers some protection against imposed sanctions in any given territory. A distributed footprint is part of our BCP planning and the ability to continue our business output and support if a country or office become unable to operate is a key part of our operational practice. As part of the BCP, across all of our office locations, in the last week, we have invoked a remote working protocol and took pre-emptive action on all employee’s hardware and connection requirements to ensure a safe and operationally practical environment for all.
As a tech company, we are fortunately well versed in using technology to carry out both daily and longer-term operations, and we will utilise the extensive technology at our disposal to continue servicing our partners.
Our Partners
The health of our Employees is a top priority of our business, but SBTech still has a commitment to supporting its global Partners. Even with a scenario changing daily at different rates in different countries, we aim to deliver the best product experience and support levels.
We know that the cancellation or postponement of major sporting events globally is a major concern for our sports betting focused Partners, we continue to work closely with our third-party data providers to ensure we have a calendar of events, along with the available pre-match and live betting opportunities where available.
In addition, we will continue to offer our suite of alternative products, whether that be across non-sporting events and betting markets, virtual sports, esports or casino and live-casino and indeed expand these to enhance the product offering.
Understanding that the scenario may change significantly over the coming days and weeks, we will continue to provide updates on a regular basis.
Stay safe.
