Antiviral nanotechnology as a solution to reinforce biosafety protocols in casinos during the summer
2 minutos de lectura
(Buenos Aires).- Casinos and bingo halls are already beginning to take measures to protect their customers during their gambling stay, through an innovative treatment of air conditioning equipment.
Covid-19 is still with us. In fact, in Europe, they are going through a new wave of the virus and these days there is talk of the Botswana strain, which is threatening again.
On the eve of the arrival of summer, refrigeration and air conditioning experts test solutions so that air conditioners incorporate mechanisms to minimize the risks posed by the Coronavirus in closed environments such as casinos and bingo halls.
This is how the Argentine company that produces advanced antiviral nanotechnology in the country, Líquido Guardián, approaches a solution applicable to filters in air conditioning systems for both large equipment and domestic splits.
Guardian Liquid is an antimicrobial coating that has shown - according to studies carried out in Europe and, in Argentina, in the laboratories of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and the private institute of Stamboulian infectology - a very high efficiency in elimination by contact of bacteria and viruses, including coronavirus.
Likewise, this coating is very easy to apply, because it is sprayed on the surface of the radiator and the Split filters, inside the equipment, and provides protection that lasts for a year. It is made based on silicon dioxide nanotechnology and generates a film whose ionic charge attracts and destroys viruses, fungi and bacteria by physical action (not chemical), which constitutes an absolute novelty in environmental biosecurity.
Líquido Guardián, invented in Germany and now produced and made locally in Argentina. Different and renowned laboratories and institutes in the country are testing and carrying out various scientific studies of this revolutionary technology that is currently being developed in Buenos Aires.

How does this innovative technology work?
“All the air that the equipment takes from the environment to renew passes through the filters, so it is important, once the coating has been applied, to keep them clean so that the silicon dioxide nanoparticle shield has contact with the air and eliminates bacteria and viruses present”, clarifies the chemist, manager and technical director of TiendaNano.AR, the Argentine SME that is developing and distributing the most advanced nanotechnology to Latin America.
Optimal maintenance of the equipment requires cleaning the filters approximately every fifteen days, although the action of the antimicrobial coating lasts more than a year: “Cleaning is carried out with water and a neutral detergent, so that all the air that passes through the filters make contact with the treated surface to reduce the microbial load of the environment ”, they point out from the company.
The product, which has been available in the local market since July, has already been adopted by the gaming industry, public transport lines, television channels and dozens of commercial premises, marking a before and after in terms of surface sanitation, providing a unique and ideal complement for cleaning and disinfection that reduces the load of microorganisms on surfaces between cleaning cycles.
