(London).- To coincide with Safer Gambling Week from 13 – 19 November, Grosvenor Casinos has launched a new intervention tool, which alerts trained team members in each of Grosvenor’s 51 venues nationwide on player’s gaming habits and transactions in real-time. Staff will be able to monitor gambling habits and offer help if it's needed.
Known as the ‘Risk App’, it enables each casino’s trained team of Player Protection Champions to use live data to approach customers when they see potential signs of problem gambling, enabling them to invite customers to have a private conversation about their gaming activities where they can feel comfortable to confide in them should they need it.
Steve Smyth, Head of Compliance at Grosvenor Casinos, said: “Everyone at Grosvenor has a responsibility for protecting and supporting our players. Our Player Protection Champions are always available for focused and dedicated support.
“We are continually seeking ways to improve and identify any customers potentially at risk and to help avert personal and financial harm. Because of this, the Risk App was introduced and is an innovative step for our teams to monitor player habits and ensure we identify customers swiftly to help them avoid gambling harm.”
Grosvenor Casinos is training even more staff to become Player Protection Champions and utilising the risk app to ensure that help is available to every customer. To assist this initiative, Grosvenor is continuing its partnership with GamCare, the independent UK gambling awareness charity, to train more employees for the role.
There are four simple steps of safer gambling advice to ensure a fun visit to casinos which the Player Protection Champions are highlighting during Safer Gambling Week. These include:
- Gambling is not a way to make money
- Don’t be afraid to take a break at any time
- Set a limit on the time and money you spend
- Talk in confidence to a Grosvenor Casinos Player Protection Champion when you need it
