(Buenos Aires City).- Within the 2025 Ordinary Annual Assembly of the Ibero-American Corporation of State Lotteries and Gambling (CIBELAE), held on November 11 in Asunción, Paraguay, the election of the new Board of Directors for the 2025–2027 term took place.
On this occasion, the Association of State Lotteries, Quinielas and Casinos of Argentina (ALEA), represented by its president Ida López, was elected to occupy the First Vice Presidency of the Corporation.
“This new role honors us and invites me, the ALEA team, and lotteries across the country to continue strengthening a task that is necessarily federal, national, and regional: the fight against illegality and the promotion of regulated, transparent, and socially responsible gaming,” said Ida López.
This international recognition reaffirms the trajectory, cooperation, and leadership of Argentina’s state lotteries in building a legal, modern, and secure gaming industry, based on transparency, collaboration, and best practices.
Following the Assembly, the XIX Congress “Lottery Products & Sports Betting” is being held in Asunción, bringing together regulators, operators, and suppliers from across Ibero-America.
During the sessions, ALEA has a prominent presence in various thematic panels:
“The outlook for sports betting in the region” – presentation by Ida López (ALEA).
“Current state of lottery products in the region” – presentation by Santiago Schunk (IAFAS / ALEA / CIBELAE), who also moderates the panels “Evolution of points of sale” and “Regional product.”
“Evolution of points of sale” – participation by Carlos Moyano (IAFAS Entre Ríos).
“Integrating and strengthening Ibero-American lotteries: promoting standards and best practices for safe, legal, and sustainable gaming” – with Teresita Benítez (IAS Formosa / ALEA / CIBELAE), Carolina Galtieri (LOTBA / ALEA / CIBELAE), and Santiago Schunk (IAFAS / ALEA / CIBELAE).
“Lotteries in action” – presentation by Édgar Pérez (IAS Formosa / ALEA).
“Digitalization and other improvements in lottery products” – moderated by Teresita Benítez (IAS Formosa / ALEA / CIBELAE).
Through this participation, the Association reaffirms its active and collaborative presence in spaces of exchange, contributing its experience and knowledge to strengthen a gaming industry that is increasingly transparent, innovative, and committed to the sustainable development of the region.
