(Bogota).- Since its creation in November 2011, Coljuegos has transferred around $6 billion to the subsidized health system, resources that come from the monopoly's income that pays for the games in their localized, novelty, raffle and promotional modalities.
“We are celebrating 13 years serving Colombians. As a company that manages the monopoly, we are pleased to say that we are part of one of the industries that contributes the most resources to serve the most needy Colombians,” said the president of Coljuegos, Marco Emilio Hincapié.
He added: “Of the total resources that Coljuegos has contributed to health, more than $2.2 billion correspond to the period of our president Gustavo Petro. Our purpose is to continue increasing the transfers to contribute to the social justice promoted by the National Development Plan.”
Likewise, Hincapié highlighted that Coljuegos is the model regulatory entity in Latin America, since, in addition to strengthening the industry, it has also marked a regional milestone both in collection and in the fight against illegality.
“For a year now, we have been writing a new story for the entity in terms of the fight against unauthorized betting. That is why we have already destroyed more than 8,300 illegal gambling elements that stopped transferring close to $250,000 million annually for health,” said Hincapié.
Likewise, the president of the entity referred to the advances in institutional modernization to improve control and collection: “Starting this year, Coljuegos has an Artificial Intelligence Center that allows us to monitor transfers in real time, as well as track illegal betting web portals,” he said.
“In addition to this, we are advancing in the institutional redesign so that the entity operates administratively and technologically according to current needs,” said the official.
It is worth noting that Coljuegos is a state-owned industrial and commercial company, attached to the Ministry of Finance, and created by Decree 4142 of November 2011, with the objective of managing the profitable monopoly of games of chance in Colombia.
