(Malta).- Last January 19th, FBM® Foundation revisited Barangay Old Capitol Site in Quezon City, where a solidarity action designated to build new homes to almost 200 families took place last June of 2023. The visit intended to unveil its impact in building a new future for those affected by the devastating fire and bring more donations to the community.
A new year means a fresh start, and to celebrate this turning point FBM Foundation decided to revisit a place that was once devasted, but that is now thriving in Brgy. Old Capitol Site, Quezon City.
With the rebuilding work being now finished, we decided to speak to the affected families and collected some heartwarming testimonials at the spot. Our Champions also donated grocery items with food and other essentials to the community.
A devastating event with a prompt response from the FBM Foundation
Remember that on May 2023, a fire in Barangay Old Capitol Site reached the third alarm, provoking significant damage to the homes of numerous families. After the incident, one of the residents reached out to FBM Foundation to accelerate the reconstruction process.
The organization’s support last year helped build over 90 houses for 170 families affected by an unprecedented fire, with the donation of construction materials, including gravel, hollow block, sand and unmeasurable support from the volunteers.
A positive solidarity impact in the lives of hundreds
The results of this solidarity initiative were visibly felt from the time our volunteers arrived at the place. What was once debris and destruction, is now a happy, comfortable and safe barangay, where hope and opportunities flourish throughout.
By joining forces and combining resources with other solidarity organizations, the FBM Foundation went beyond house construction, and the community showed gratitude for its prompt response in assisting them in times of difficulty and uncertainty.
FBM Foundation keeps proving that even the smallest act of kindness can have a significant impact on people's lives. As the foundation continues to serve communities in need, its legacy of kindness and generosity can inspire others to follow in their footsteps and make a difference in the world.
