(Lakewood).- When clients like Avento MT LTD are ready to expand into new markets, they know they can count on GLI to get them where they need to be. The GLI’s newest case study take a look at how they used their experience working with jurisdictions worldwide to lead Avento in obtaining their internet gaming license from the Swedish Gaming Authority.

GLI lead Avento in obtaining their internet gaming license from the Swedish Gaming Authority

The Situation

Up-and-coming iGaming company Avento Group, based in Malta, and owns and operates several online casinos and sportsbooks, including Aplay Casino, Drift Casino, and Frank Casino. Having launched Avento MT in 2018, which operates the casino brands in regulated markets, the company now wanted to expand into other European markets. Their journey would begin with a quest to secure an internet gaming license from the Swedish Gaming Authority. But where to start?

The Challenge

Avento MT had successfully operated in Malta for years; however, what did Avento MT need to do to reach Sweden? And how should they prepare? What steps would they need to take to venture off the island and reach players in Sweden? And once they did – then what? How could they secure their platforms at home and abroad, and how could they prepare for further expansion?

"We are really happy we were able to build a strong relationship with GLI. For Avento, GLI has always shown as being a reliable and responsible partner, meeting all the requirements and our tight deadlines, and being ready to support and clear any problematic points. It has never been a problem getting any gambling regulatory approval, as GLI certificates are widely known and top=ranked by any official institution. We hope to work on new projects in the future and increase our profits with the help of GLI!", said Mary Barr Head of Partner Relations, Avento MT.

The Action

Avento MT has been a GLI client since 2018, when they turned to GLI for advice and assistance. GLI has more than 30 years of iGaming experience and is the only lab working with all jurisdictions worldwide, both existing and emerging. With the best team of experts around the world, no one was better prepared to help Avento MT navigate the new uncertainty of the ever-changing gaming landscape ahead of them.

Thinking long-term, GLI not only helped Avento MT understand the immediate requirements set forth by the Swedish Gaming Authority, but helped to clear a path for Avento MT’s broader business plan and larger goals.

With a big-picture strategy in mind, GLI helped Avento MT understand the path ahead and how GLI would continually support them in bringing their future to fruition, from the end-to-end process for obtaining the SGA license, to acting as business consultants as well as technical experts. The GLI team also worked with Avento MT to help them gain clarity as to the significance of ISO27001 accreditation, and how that accreditation could help them earn certification in markets worldwide.

The Results

Avento MT earned the Swedish Gaming Authority license, critical to its expansion plans. GLI’s global compliance team’s efforts successfully played an important role in Avento MT issuing letters of intent and other key documents on time, helping to propel Avento MT to larger success.

The Future

GLI has since worked with Avento MT to obtain a license to operate in Romania and are now working with them on their IS027001 accreditation, a requirement in many regulated jurisdictions. GLI continues to support Avento MT and their further expansions into new markets.
