IGT  announced that Hector Fernandez has officially joined the company as CEO, marking the start of a new era of leadership and strategic growth. Fernandez brings extensive experience in gaming and technology, having most recently served as CEO of a leading global competitor. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for steering strategic initiatives that boosted market share, revenue, and profitability. Fernandez will be based in Las Vegas, home to IGT’s global headquarters.

In addition, IGT announced that Nick Khin, who previously served as interim enterprise CEO and CEO of the Gaming business unit, will step down from his current role and transition to a strategic advisor position for the senior leadership team and board.

“Nick has made invaluable contributions to IGT over the past twelve years,” Fernandez said. “His leadership during this transition has been critical, and we deeply appreciate his continued guidance as we move forward.”

Fernandez will assume the role of CEO of the combined enterprise and oversee the Gaming business unit following regulatory approvals. Meanwhile, Gil Rotem will continue leading IGT’s Digital business unit, and Darren Simmons will remain at the helm of IGT’s FinTech business unit.
