IGT Appoints Hector Fernandez as CEO: Paving the Way for Innovation and Global Growth

(Las Vegas).- Hector Fernandez to lead IGT’s next chapter, driving strategic growth, product innovation, and enhanced customer partnerships worldwide.
IGT announced that Hector Fernandez has officially joined the company as CEO, marking the start of a new era of leadership and strategic growth. Fernandez brings extensive experience in gaming and technology, having most recently served as CEO of a leading global competitor. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for steering strategic initiatives that boosted market share, revenue, and profitability. Fernandez will be based in Las Vegas, home to IGT’s global headquarters.
“I’m honored and excited to lead IGT into its next chapter,” said Hector Fernandez. “This is a company with exceptional talent, strong industry relationships, and significant growth potential. As we integrate the legacy IGT and Everi teams in partnership with Apollo, we have the opportunity to redefine operations, innovation, and customer delivery. Daniel Cohen, Partner at Apollo and Chair of IGT’s Board of Directors, added, “With Hector at the helm and a talented leadership team drawn from IGT Gaming & Digital, Everi, and key new hires, we believe the combined enterprise will accelerate growth, enhance product innovation, and strengthen customer partnerships. In addition, IGT announced that Nick Khin, who previously served as interim enterprise CEO and CEO of the Gaming business unit, will step down from his current role and transition to a strategic advisor position for the senior leadership team and board.
“Nick has made invaluable contributions to IGT over the past twelve years,” Fernandez said. “His leadership during this transition has been critical, and we deeply appreciate his continued guidance as we move forward.”
Fernandez will assume the role of CEO of the combined enterprise and oversee the Gaming business unit following regulatory approvals. Meanwhile, Gil Rotem will continue leading IGT’s Digital business unit, and Darren Simmons will remain at the helm of IGT’s FinTech business unit.
