(London).- The Gambling Commission appoints Kirsty Caldwell as Interim Chair of the Industry Forum, bringing her compliance expertise and commitment to fostering collaboration between regulator and industry.
The Gambling Commission has announced the appointment of Kirsty Caldwell as Interim Chair of the Industry Forum, effective immediately.
Kirsty, a Forum member since March 2024, will serve in the interim role while the Commission begins the recruitment process to appoint a permanent Chair following Nick Rust, whose term ended in November 2025.
With extensive experience in compliance, Kirsty is the founder and director of Betsmart Consulting, established in 2019. She stated:
"I am delighted to take on this role. I remain fully committed to building a healthy and respected gambling sector. Cooperation and communication between the regulator and industry are key to achieving this. We may not get it right every time, but the important thing is that we learn from our mistakes, continue the dialogue, and keep moving forward."
The Industry Forum consists of representatives from across the UK gambling sector. It provides the Gambling Commission with insights into industry perspectives on regulatory plans, service delivery to consumers and businesses, and the broader operating environment.
This appointment reinforces the Commission’s commitment to ongoing engagement with the industry and to promoting transparency, collaboration, and responsible gambling practices.
