(Asunción).- The National Tax Revenue Directorate (DNIT) temporarily suspended the commercial activities of four establishments, in Encarnación (Itapúa) and San Ignacio (Misiones). It is for not issuing legal receipts. The sanctioned businesses are a bar, two casinos and a hotel, all owned by the same taxpayer.

These businesses must keep their doors closed to the public for three days, as established by the competent Court. This decision was made after the Jeroviaha Department, dependent on the General Management of Internal Taxes (GGII) of the DNIT, detected the lack of issuance of sales receipts, during the control procedures carried out in the aforementioned localities.
The irregularities were verified by the Tax Administration through the simulated purchasing procedure carried out during controls at nightclubs in the area. In that sense, it was possible to verify non-compliance with the current provisions regarding the issuance and delivery of receipts, a situation that allowed the Tax Administration to request the respective judicial order.
During the execution of the judicial measure, a timely inspection of the taxpayer is carried out, which includes the inventory of gambling machines. In this way, the existence or not of tax fraud and non-payment of taxes can be determined.
It should be noted that the DNIT will continue to carry out these types of procedures in every country, betting heavily on the formalization of the economy, for the well-being of all citizens.
