(Asuncion).- The National Gaming Commission (Conajzar), dependent on the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), provided La Nación/Nación Media with collection data corresponding to the months of September, October, November and December 2023.
During the aforementioned months, the entity managed to collect G. 55,920,988,877 (US$ 7,530,264) over the G. 50,740,605,567 (US$ 6,832,679) in 2022, with an increase of G. 5,180,383,310 since the new administration, chaired by Dr. Carlos Liseras, took office. In general, in 2023, Conajzar collected a total of G. 158,080,745,324 (US$ 21,286,995) compared to G. 143,734,633,338, with a positive variation of G. 14,346,111,986.
The president of Conajzar, Carlos Liseras, explained to La Nación/Nación Media that this increase in collections has to do with the interventions they constantly carry out, chasing clandestine gambling houses and the removal of slot machines from the streets, which responds to a punishable act.
“We are doing a good job getting slot machines off the streets. So, with that, people go and play in the premises that are legally enabled. That's why there is a rebound from our administration," he said.
