Peru appointed new head of MINCETUR gaming regulator
⏱ 1 min read
(Lima).- The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) appointed Yuri Guerra Padilla as the new head of the General Directorate of Casino Games and Slot Machines.
The appointment – still pending officialization – arises after the removal of Eduardo Sevilla Echavarría from office. The official had held the position for the last two years, but he was dismissed in the last hours.
Guerra Padilla is an electronic engineer, with a Master's degree in Public Management, a Diploma in Information Security Management System, with Postgraduate studies in Telecommunications Engineering, and specialization in new information technologies.
The new head of the regulator has been in the public sector for 15 years and served as Director of Control and Sanction, Electronic Engineer IV and Electronic Equipment Technician II at Mincetur.
Peruvian operators already have some knowledge of the new director of the entity, since he was in charge of explaining the new technical and regulatory framework to actors in the sector in meetings held in recent months. This change in leadership marks a new stage for the General Directorate of Casino Games and Slot Machines.
