UK Gambling Commission Appoints Sue Young as Executive Director of Operations

(London).- Former HMRC director brings extensive public sector leadership to strengthen regulatory oversight and safer gambling initiatives
The UK Gambling Commission has announced the appointment of Sue Young as its new Executive Director of Operations, reinforcing its leadership team as it advances efforts to ensure a safer and more transparent gambling environment.
Sue Young joins the regulator from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), where she served as Director of Debt Management. She brings a wealth of senior leadership experience across the public sector, having held key roles within the Home Office, including positions in Border Force, as well as at HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services and the Department of Health and Social Care.
In her new role, Young will oversee a range of the Commission’s operational functions, playing a central role in strengthening regulatory enforcement and supporting the organization’s mission to keep gambling fair, safe, and free from criminal activity.
The appointment comes at a time when the Gambling Commission continues to expand its regulatory focus, with increased emphasis on compliance, consumer protection, and industry accountability across the UK gambling sector.
