(Malaga).- Juan Pardo has achieved the most significant victory of his professional career by taking home a prize of $1,421,680 at the GGMillion$ Main Event, the world's most prominent poker tournament of 2024. This event, considered one of the most prestigious of the year, brought together 886 players and was the perfect stage for the Malaga native to demonstrate his mastery at the table and be crowned champion.

Poker: Juan Pardo achieves the greatest victory of his career at the main tournament of the year

Pardo, who arrived at the final table in an advantageous position, was quick to show why he is one of the most feared players on the circuit. From the start of the final phase, the Montenegrin Dejan Kaladjurdjevic, who led the chips, tried to control the table. However, Pardo quickly took control of the game, showing off his great ability to control the pace of the game.

The Spaniard started with a solid lead, accumulating 93bb, which allowed him to deploy a calculated and aggressive strategy at the same time. In the early stages of the final table, “Malaka”, as he is known on the circuit, began to make the difference. He stole blinds from Piekazewicz, while the Russian Alexander Zubov doubled his stack and became a serious competitor by finishing in second place.

Not everything was easy for Pardo, since in the first moments he suffered a major setback when his pair of tens was surpassed by a pair of kings. Despite this setback, the Malaga native kept his cool and little by little regained ground, eliminating other rivals and taking advantage over Kaladjurdjevic.

Within the course of early eliminations, Simon Mattson's was the one that surprised the audience the most. The Swede and one of the leaders of the poker universe was the first to be eliminated. Piekazewicz also tried to resist, but his Jh8c was no match for Pardo's Kh5h, who eliminated him in a hand of less than 10bb. One of the most exciting plays of the final table was the elimination of Kaladjurdjevic, which allowed Pardo to consolidate his chip lead, tripling his closest pursuer, the Israeli Barak Wisbrod.

The eliminations continued their course, and although Wisbrod tried to apply pressure, Juan dodged several dangerous hands. Also, in a crucial hand, his JsJc pair beat Pavel Plesuv's Bd9d, eliminating the player in fifth position. Shortly after, "hazuzuka" was eliminated with JcQd against Pardo's QsQc, which set the table for a 3-handed battle in which Zubov had only 5bb.

The game became more intense when only three players remained at the table. Wisbrod, with more than 30 big blinds, lost a flip against Zubov, who doubled, and then, in a key hand, he limped with aces, looking for Pardo to go all-in, but he failed. Juan, with 6s7h, hit top pair on the flop and eliminated Wisbrod in third position.

The final heads-up match was a tense duel between Pardo and Zubov. Although the Russian managed to reduce Juan's chip lead to a 3-to-1 margin, the Malaga native kept his composure and took advantage of a key final hand to take the tournament. His queens outplayed Zubov's top pair, thus securing the definitive triumph.

This achievement not only marks Pardo's greatest success in his career, but also sets a new record for Spanish poker in the online arena. His victory has earned him a prominent place in the world poker elite, where he has received praise from renowned figures such as Jeff Gross and Mike Wasserman, who praised his ability to read the game and make sound strategic decisions.

Juan Pardo's rise has been the result of years of dedication and hard work. From his beginnings in the Torrequebrada casino, where his parents picked him up because he did not have a car, to becoming an internationally respected figure, his career is a clear example that in poker, both skill and consistency are essential to achieve success.

This victory highlights the importance of mastering the Poker combinations, since in tournaments of this level, every hand and every decision can be decisive. Pardo demonstrated impeccable control of the game, basing his strategy on taking advantage of key opportunities and avoiding making costly mistakes.

Despite having achieved this impressive achievement, it is clear that Juan Pardo still has much to offer. His ability to remain competitive in the most challenging tournaments, combined with his strategic approach and consistency, places him as one of the most promising and outstanding players on the world scene.
