(Michigan).- Players in Michigan and Pennsylvania: you get to sit at the “big kids’ table” this year. On Monday, the World Series of Poker announced the return of the WSOP Online for 2022.

WSOP Online to include players from Michigan, Pennsylvania for first time

Among the details is an exciting development for Michigan online casino and PA online casino players. They will be able to join a US online gambling pool that includes competition from two other states for the first time.

According to a press release from WSOP.com, the 2022 version of the WSOP Online will be the first available for players in Michigan and Pennsylvania. They will join players in Nevada and New Jersey this year. The events begin Sept. 10 and run through Oct. 18 for players in all four states. It’s the third year for the online tournament, which featured pools of more than $25 million in each of its first two years.

The release states that buy-ins for the events will start at $365 and go up to $10,000. The tournament’s premiere event is an Online Championship with a $1,000 buy-in on Oct. 16.

Limited calendar for WSOP players in new states

Some events on the schedule will be unavailable to players in Michigan and Pennsylvania. The release points out a few events in the series that will be limited to just players in Nevada and New Jersey. These include a $400 PLOSSUS 6-Max game on Sept. 24 and a $10,000 Super High Roller event on Oct. 18.

Most of the tournament’s games will be open to players in Michigan and Pennsylvania, however. The reason behind the exclusion of some events has to do with regulatory differences between the disparate states.

Pennsylvania has yet to join a multistate gaming compact for online gambling, and Michigan just did so recently. In future years, progress in implementing such agreements should open up more of these games to players in those states.

Even a limited menu of these games is better than none at all, though. For players in both states, it’s finally time to try to win some cash and online bracelets.
