Colorado Sports Betting Posts Strong September with Nearly 10% Increase in Fiscal Year-to-Date Tax Revenue

In September 2025, Coloradans wagered over $608.7 million on sports, a 45.91% increase from August 2025 and 8.14% higher than September 2024.

Total tax revenue for the fiscal year to date exceeds $9.6 million, marking a 9.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Full figures are available online and in the tables at the end of the press release.

"Colorado continues to demonstrate a strong and responsible sports betting market," said Gaming Director Christopher Schroder. "These numbers reflect not only the public’s interest but also our ongoing commitment to using this revenue to support critical water initiatives across the state. We also remind everyone to play responsibly. If you or someone you know needs help, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER or visit BetSmart.Colorado.gov."

Sports Betting Revenue Supports Colorado Water Projects

Sports betting tax revenue helps fund vital water projects in Colorado. Some funds go to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for programs like the Bear Creek Wildfire Ready Action Plan, which protects water resources and communities after wildfires by mapping hazards, coordinating with local organizations, and educating residents on preparedness.
