Detroit Casinos Generate $100,6M in February Revenue, Led by MGM’s Market Dominance

(Detroit).- Table games and slots drive the bulk of revenue while retail sports betting declines month-over-month in Michigan’s largest casino market.
Detroit’s three commercial casinos generated $100.6 million in aggregate revenue (AGR) in February 2026, according to the latest market figures. The majority came from table games and slot machines, which produced $100.0 million, while retail sports betting contributed $560,960 in qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR).
Market share for February remained led by MGM Grand Detroit, which captured 48% of the market, followed by MotorCity Casino Hotel with 29%, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown with 23%.
Table Games and Slots Performance
Revenue from table games and slot machines rose 2.0% compared with February 2025, although it declined 3.0% from January 2026. For the year-to-date period January 1 through February 28, revenue increased 1.4% year-over-year.
Casino-level performance compared with February 2025 showed mixed results:
MGM Grand Detroit: up 4.1% to $48.3 million
MotorCity Casino Hotel: up 3.3% to $29.4 million
Hollywood Casino at Greektown: down 3.7% to $22.3 million
Detroit’s casinos also contributed significantly to public revenues. Operators paid $8.1 million in state gaming taxes in February, up from $7.9 million in February 2025. In addition, the casinos reported $11.9 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the Detroit city government.
Retail Sports Betting Activity
Retail sports betting activity totaled $6.5 million in handle during February. The segment generated $578,285 in total gross receipts, with QAGR reaching $560,960.
However, retail sports betting revenue showed notable declines, falling 31.2% compared with February 2025 and 27.2% from January 2026.
QAGR results by casino were:
MGM Grand Detroit: $134,420
MotorCity Casino Hotel: $159,851
Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $266,689
Based on February retail sports betting activity, the casinos paid $21,204 in state taxes and submitted $25,916 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.
Fantasy Contests
Separately, fantasy contest operators reported $991,827 in adjusted revenues for January 2026, contributing $83,313 in taxes.
