Worrying drop in Betting Consumption in Denmark in October

Statistics from the Danish Gambling Authority reveal a notable decrease in gambling expenditure in October 2025 compared to the same month last year, with the betting market being the only sector to experience a decline.

In October 2025, total gambling spending in Denmark reached DKK 599 million, marking a 3.4% decrease compared to October 2024. The overall drop is primarily attributed to significant fluctuations in the betting market, which saw a sharp 46% decrease year-over-year.

Meanwhile, other segments of the gambling industry showed growth. Online casinos led the increase with a 24.4% rise in spending, followed by land-based casinos with a 6% growth, and gaming machines with a modest 0.6% increase.

This data highlights the ongoing shifts in Denmark’s gambling landscape, with online gambling continuing to gain popularity while traditional betting experiences a downturn.
