(Detroit).- Michigan digital gambling market continues to demonstrate robust growth, with July 2026 generating over $346 million in total gross receipts. Supported by impressive year-over-year gains across all gaming verticals, these figures reaffirm the state's position as a powerhouse in the regulated North American iGaming sector.
July 2026 Revenue and Handle Breakdown
During July 2026, Michigan’s commercial and tribal operators reported a combined $346.13 million in internet gaming (iGaming) and online sports betting gross receipts, representing a 1.4% increase from June.
When analyzing the specific verticals, iGaming accounted for the vast majority of the income, generating $302.77 million in gross receipts, while online sports betting contributed $43.36 million.
The combined Adjusted Gross Receipts (AGR) for the month totaled $321.42 million. This included $290.65 million from iGaming and $30.77 million from online sports betting. The sector showed remarkable year-over-year growth: iGaming AGR was up 23.6% compared to July of last year, and online sports betting AGR surged by 28.8%.
Interestingly, while the online sports betting handle totaled $355.2 million—a slight 3.0% decrease from June 2026—the sports betting AGR saw a massive 52.7% month-over-month increase, indicating highly favorable margins and hold percentages for the operators during this period.
Tax Contributions and Operator Landscape
The thriving digital betting market continues to yield significant financial benefits for local and state governments. In July alone, operators submitted a total of $63.3 million in taxes and payments to the State of Michigan. This distribution included $61.2 million derived from iGaming taxes and fees, and $2.1 million from online sports betting.
At the municipal level, the three Detroit commercial casinos reported paying $14.09 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees to the City of Detroit, heavily driven by $13.5 million from iGaming activities. Additionally, tribal operators reported generating $8.4 million in payments to their respective governing bodies.
As of July 2026, the Michigan regulatory framework supports 15 authorized commercial and tribal operators offering digital betting products. All 15 entities currently offer iGaming platforms, while 13 of those operators also feature online sports betting operations. Detailed individual operator results remain available through the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
