LOTTOPAR notifies unauthorized offshore betting companies in Brazil

With the start of Fixed Betting operations in Paraná getting closer and with some concessionaires already in the process of integration with the management platform and payment methods of Loterias do Estado do Paraná (Lottopar), this notification measure aims to guarantee the legal security of lottery operations in the state and also bring more security to bettors. In this way, unauthorized sites are aware that, as soon as authorized companies begin operations, they will be operating illegally and irregularly and will not be able to continue offering bets in the jurisdiction of Paraná.

Around 350 websites that offer betting services in Brazil and also in Paraná will receive this notification. “A market that operated for many years without rules, in a gray and unregulated area, with a large part of the funds remaining outside Brazil, now has the opportunity to operate in a legalized environment, offering more security to bettors, creating employment, transparency and with part of the funds being invested in public security, housing and social actions. We cannot allow illegals to continue offering betting services in a regulated environment like that of Paraná. “This is just the first step of many other actions and partnerships to come in the fight against illegal gambling,” said Lottopar CEO Daniel Romanowski.

Identification of sites

The Paraná player will be able to easily distinguish an authorized site from an illegal one using a verification seal. The Authorized Site and Authorized App seals must be applied to the sites and equipment of companies authorized to operate in Paraná. With this seal, players can be sure that they are accessing the website of a company that is regulated, legalized and authorized to operate in Paraná, or that the equipment used by lottery companies is duly registered and verified by Lottopar, a joint effort carried out in conjunction with testing and certification laboratories.
