Sportradar Delivers Integrity Workshop to AUF to Help Prevent and Dectect Match-Fixing
⏱ 2 min read
(Montevideo).-. The Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) has begun an integrity program for players and officials of its competitions, developed and delivered by Sportradar and intended to identify match-fixing and safeguard sport.
The program includes workshops that focus on educating and protecting the players and officials from potential match-fixing. The program features unique and tailored educational content, using interactive learning and real-life situations to highlight the potential risks and circumstances of match- fixing. During the workshops, Sportradar provides proficient insights gained from the company’s extensive experience in monitoring, detecting and investigating competition manipulation around the globe.
Six workshops are planned, including for both male and female Professional Uruguayan National Teams for Under17, Under20 and the Senior teams. The first session was held this week at Complejo Celeste from the AUF with the male Under20 team, with others scheduled according to the entity's competition calendar.
Sportradar's UFDS is already operational in the AUF all Professional Division Championships in an agreement that the company signed with FIFA and CONMEBOL in 20171. In addition, since 2021 the Third and Fourth divisions began to be monitored after an agreement between AUF and Sportradar2, also adding the monitoring of the remaining AUF competitions during this current year.
Sportradar’s Managing Director of Integrity Services, Andreas Krannich, said: “Sportradar Integrity Services deliver educational workshops to clubs and league partners all around the world every year. We are honored that AUF has chosen us for this vital initiative and we look forward to working together in the fight against match-fixing and to protect Uruguayan football.”
Match-fixing remains a constant and growing threat across the world of sports. Indeed, 2022 is on pace to set the record of having the most suspicious matches in the history of the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), Sportradar’s proven bet monitoring system for integrity purposes, with the 1,000 suspicious match mark almost certain to be breached for the first time.
The integrity education programs are part of Sportradar’s world-leading Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS).
