(Las Vegas, SoloAzar Exclusive).- After the confirmation that 2021 Global Gaming Expo will take place from October 4 to 7 in person at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas, SoloAzar exclusively interviewed Korbi Carrison, G2E Event Director. “Hosting G2E in-person is everyone’s ultimate goal, and as the show management team continues to prepare for this year’s event, our exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees’ feedback is more important than ever,” she said.

´G2E will continue to offer the exciting expo hall that our attendees expect, along with education opportunities and networking´

G2E aims to host an in-person show in October in case it is viable. What will be the main characteristics of the show and what will be the main differences compared to latest editions?

Healthy and safety come first for everything we do. Our team is actively coordinating with the Sands Expo and Convention Center and the team at the Venetian, monitoring public health guidelines and taking steps to ensure that Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is safe for all of those who decide to attend in-person. Some measures we anticipate implementing include additional sanitizing stations, increased spacing of aisles, signage to support physical distancing requirements, designating directional traffic flows, and more. Learning from the hundreds of trade shows that Reed Exhibitions has within its global portfolio (in addition to G2E) is an incredible advantage for implementing the best approach.

G2E will continue to offer the exciting expo hall that our attendees expect, along with education opportunities and networking.  For those who are not able to join us in-person, we are working on virtual components to allow for the industry to join with us from anywhere.

What has been the feedback and support from exhibitors and sponsors during 2020-2021?

For the past 20 years, G2E has been the leader in uniting the global gaming community. We are in constant communication with these groups, especially as we all navigate current challenges the industry faces. Hosting G2E in-person is everyone’s ultimate goal, and as the show management team continues to prepare for this year’s event, our exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees’ feedback is more important than ever.  While we realize that not everyone will be able to attend G2E in-person, our conversations indicate the industry is excited to reconnect and celebrate the emergence from this difficult time.

You have recently communicated a very organized schedule considering different scenarios according to the evolution of the pandemic. How have you managed to deal with the organization of the show considering the current situation and the expectations of organizers, exhibitors and assistants?

If this past year has taught us anything, it is to be nimble and plan for contingencies. We are fully aware that conditions and regulations will be evolving and with that in mind, the health and safety of our exhibitors, attendees, and staff will always be our top priority. G2E’s health and safety guidelines continue to be enhanced and updated with learnings from events and new guidelines provided by state and local officials. Additional G2E-specific safety plans and official regulations will continue to be added as they become available.

Can you give us more details on the virtual offerings for those who cannot attend in-person this year?

Many of the ways that events have traditionally delivered content, convened, or shared information have changed from before the COVID-19 pandemic. G2E will have a number of virtual offerings for those who cannot attend in-person this year. With a greater emphasis and integration of new technology in all aspects of this year’s show, there will be virtual and digital components available to attendees, exhibitors, and media. We are excited to announce more programs and details in the coming months.
