Jhon Mario Giraldo, President of Cornazar’s Board of Directors and his speech on Responsible Gaming at GAT

On Tuesday, April 9 during the GAT at 11:25 at the Hotel Las Américas Convention Center, Cartagena de Indias, the conference titled “The reality of localized gaming in Colombia, challenges and challenges to face” took place under the moderation of Elizabeth Maya Cano, Executive President of Cornazar. During the day, the president of the executive board of directors said company, Jhon Mario Giraldo, addressed several central issues regarding the problems that gambling can cause in people.

  Responsible gaming

One of the main topics that were discussed without a doubt was who was responsible. In this regard, Giraldo, president of the Executive Board, spoke of “certain actions regarding responsible gambling” and stressed that “an action that is important is advertising, we have to be very careful that gambling is restricted for children and teenagers. Furthermore, when we launch a promotion, be careful not to encourage them to fall into the game. We also have measures such as staff training, we have to be committed to our employees to inform them and be willing to participate with the regulatory body of activities regarding responsible gambling. We have to take precautionary measures such as self-evaluation. We see behaviors that anyone can say are compulsive, such as that of a person who wants to gamble more and more, who isolates himself, who borrows money from his friends, a person who lends money to play with these behaviors, developing a self-diagnosis can help us a lot. ”

Self-exclusion

Self-exclusion was another topic that was emphasized. In this regard, Giraldo maintained that “self-exclusion is a very important element of self-help, the person must freely exclude themselves. It is an important tool. As operators, we must carry out indicators, every time we see a person who self-excludes, we must inform our regulatory entity ColJuegos”

Finally, Giraldo pointed out that: “the most important thing is to help someone when we see that they already have symptoms of gambling addiction. We have to have entities with an easy access to support us on this issue.”
