PGS 2018 exceeded the expected number of visitors

(Lima, Exclusive SoloAzar) - Rubén Solórzano, Director and General Manager of AMG (Affiliated Marketing Group), organizing company of Peru Gaming Show (PGS), spoke exclusively with SoloAzar moments after the closing of the last edition of Peru Gaming Show, which was held last week in Lima.
What were the highlights of this edition of PGS?
I think there were several factors. First, the fact of having grown 25% in terms of floor; in reality almost 40%, between the size of the floor of the fair and the fairgrounds; so much so that traditionally we had only the main hangar but now we have gone to the outside of the hangar. On the other hand, as a result of the revision of the new law of sports and online betting, we have had an extraordinary conference, in a room also renovated and new that has given us a better presentation in relation to other years.
How many people attended the conferences?
There have been more than 400 people. This exceeded all expectations; we thought we could hold about 300, which was what we usually had. And well, the following day, after the conferences, there has also been coincidentally the Peru-France match, and it has happened on a giant screen, with the attendance of more than 250 people. The first day there were around 2000 people and the second another, so we must be over 4000 in visitors, a record number.
Did you receive any feedback from exhibitors and visitors?
Yes, yesterday I was with at least 3 or 4 exhibitors on the tour and it is really a satisfaction because the first thing they say is "congratulations", because they say it is a very organized fair that is always growing. That satisfies us and evidently is a demonstration that we are working well. The whole team of AMG and PGS makes its maximum effort, with a very professional and careful work to reach this result.
The round table had a very good participation. Do you think that they will repeat it in the future? Does it add any value to the conferences?
Yes, definitely the round table has been a fundamental element in this conference. The way in which it was elaborated and structured, with the professionalism of Mr. Freddy Gamarra as moderator was really tremendous. And we made connections with state agencies, such as COLJUEGOS, for example, in Colombia, MINCETUR Peru, and having had the support of an entity such as GLI, as a homologator, the truth was that it was an extraordinary combination. And the conference was given in a very satisfactory way for all those who were in the room.
On June 19 and 20, 2019 is the confirmed date for Peru Gaming Show next year, and we hope to repeat and surpass what we have done this year.
Were all the expectations you had about this edition met?
As you know, Peru is close to raising the law of sports betting and online to the congress, and estimates tell us that in July or August it can be discussed at the congress, so, as a result of that, we see it as convenient as an organization in the world of gaming that is interesting to make an analysis already of that norm; that all agents in Peru can have a clear idea of what it contains. Therefore we have convened an international symposium for August 15 and 16, to be able to make an analysis and also have the experiences of other countries such as Spain or Colombia, which already have the norm, and surely Paraguay, it seems to me, to make a detailed discussion of what is an online standard and sports betting. This forum is going to be done with people of the first level, and hopefully this will help all those who are linked to the gaming industry.
The objective of this forum is to analyze our law and surely compare it with what Colombia currently has and with which Spain and other countries could have. This is the goal.
