(Seneca County, NY).- In a recent SEC filing, gaming giant Churchill Downs Inc. revealed that it is considering the sale of nine of its casino properties across the United States, including New York's del Lago Resort & Casino. While no timeline has been established, the announcement marks a potential significant shift in the regional casino landscape.
Evaluating Key Properties Across the Nation
A prominent Finger Lakes casino could soon find itself under new ownership. According to a recent filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Churchill Downs Inc. has officially announced that it is exploring the sale of nine of its regional casinos across the United States.
Among the properties being considered for divestiture is the del Lago Resort & Casino, located in Seneca County, New York. However, the scope of the potential sales stretches far beyond the Empire State. The other eight properties listed in the filing include Calder Casino in Florida, Terre Haute Casino in Indiana, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Iowa, Oxford Casino Hotel in Maine, Ocean Downs Casino and Racetrack in Maryland, Harlow’s Casino Resort and Spa and Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Mississippi, and Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Pennsylvania.
No Guaranteed Transactions or Timetables
Despite the sweeping nature of the disclosure, Churchill Downs has tempered expectations regarding any immediate changes. In its regulatory filing, the company firmly stated that there is no guarantee that del Lago or any of the other eight listed properties will ultimately be sold, nor is there any certainty that a potential transaction will be successfully completed.
Additionally, the operator confirmed that no official timetable has been established for evaluating or executing these sales. Churchill Downs clarified its position on future communications regarding the matter, stating that the company “does not intend to provide updates unless and until it is determined that disclosure is required by law.” For now, local communities and industry stakeholders will have to wait and see how the company's strategic exploration unfolds.
