(London, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Diego Salas, Sales Manager at Altenar, shared his views about the latest edition of ICE, in which the firm participated with a booth and showcased its products.

´Bet Builder Basketball is definitely a highlight for us´: Diego Salas, Altenar

We finally met again in person at ICE London. What is the importance for the company of being present at this show?

It’s of great importance to us, because not only will ICE bring us all together again, it’s one of the largest stages for the iGaming world to demonstrate what we can do for potential clients. This year, we have focused on our Product Roadmap that will see Bet Builder in Basketball, amongst other products, and the new territories for us at Altenar.

It’s a very exciting time and being present at ICE is invaluable because, like you say, we meet in person again and the show allows Altenar to offer that personal touch we’re so well-known for.

What novelties have you prepared for this occasion? What is the firm exhibiting at your stand and what is the highlight?

Bet Builder Basketball is definitely a highlight for us, and something that our clients are looking to harness because it takes bet builder to, or adds to it more so, another market that seems to have been little harnessed when it comes to bet builder gaming.
Allowing this level of bet-personalisation for Basketball leagues, games and events, means that more countries and bettors will feel catered to, as well as, bringing something new to the market and industry as a whole.

Bet builder for Basketball is a game changer, especially with the NBA being such a global sensation, and that’s something we wanted to highlight this year at ICE, that we’re broadening our sports content offering.

During the last two years, due to the pandemic, we had to make changes and adapt both personally and professionally. How does the company face this "new normal" we are living right now?

Very well, we have grown a lot. The sports betting and iGaming industry, interestingly, saw an upward trend and it’s given birth to a host of new and exciting trends and sub-markets within betting, like Esports for instance.

Altenar, at our very core, believes in flexibility and we’re always searching for new ways to improve our sportsbook software and these past two years have given us the opportunity to do exactly that.

Online gaming is becoming stronger every day worldwide. What are the opportunities that arise, what are the benefits? Do you think that online gaming could be competition for land-based gaming or a complement?

Opportunities arise from this shift from in-land to online in many ways, though it appears that the wealth of content this shift has afforded bettors is one of the greatest opportunities, especially for operators and providers because it means there’s alway something new around the corner and we love that here at Altenar.

This is always a country-by-country response, however, if a blanket phrase or overview were cast, then it’s less of a competition between the two entities but a compliment, as in-land operators aren’t vanishing for instance, they’re simply making the move to online gaming and bringing a host of traditional gaming knowledge with them in the process. It’s a win-win.

In what markets is the company already established and what are the markets it is aiming to enter soon?

Holland has our focus and we believe that we’ll be within this market soon. It's an exciting time for Altenar as we expand and find new ground, operators and bettors to work with, and to create something unique for Holland.

Europe and LatAm are already well-established markets for us, and ones that allow us to be kept on our toes, so to speak, not one country is the same and for that reason we adapt to the climate and I think that’s something which has made Altenar extremely popular and successful over the years. Our ability to adapt.

What is Altenar most excited for when it comes to the rest of 2022 and onwards?

We’re focused and excited for our product roadmap that’s seeing a 2.0 for our risk management system, new features like the Basketball bet builder, and a host of different features that can be found on our website.
We’re also looking forward to how the industry will grow and the new forms it will take out of this so-called new wave, as, at Altenar, we’re always watching the industry and what we can do to improve it and ourselves… It's always a process of improvement for us.
