(Romania, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Anton Vlad, Entertainment Arena Expo organizer, granted an interview to SoloAzar about the recent trade event, the novelties presented and the challenges of organizing a new edition after the pandemic, among other issues.

Which were the main challenges and highlights when organizing the 14th edition of EAE?
First, it was the pandemic situation that had kept the events out for more than two years. It was a real challenge to link again the communication with visitors and exhibitors after this break.
Which were the main novelties at the exhibition hall, which is the biggest in Eastern Europe?
The exhibitors came with new products, adapted to the market requests. Many new gambling machines and online solutions, as from 2019, the exhibitors developed their products and now they had the opportunity to use EAE as a vehicle to show them to the potential clients.
What can you tell us about the participation of Romanian companies, as well as firms from other countries?
For 2022 we didn’t know what to expect, as the pandemic generated a lot of damages in the events industry. Lucky, the number of exhibitors and visitors was similar to the pre pandemic EAE years. We were a little cautious in the configuration of this year floor plan, but we had 550 sqm of stands that had remained out of the exhibition, as all the spaces were sold out in July. So, for the next year we will return to the original show, with the pre-pandemic size of 11.760 sqm.
Which were the main themes treated at the conferences?
Changes in legislation and taxation were the main themes of the conference. I can say that it was a technical discussion and not just another conference.
How do you see the current situation of the Eastern European games of chance market?
We can say that the Eastern European market is growing year by year and, nowadays, the Romanian market is the biggest from the region, with a number of aprox. 80.000 land-based gaming machines and an online segment of gambling and betting that is very dynamic and is expanding fast.
