Habanero Systems chose Gaming Colombia for its debut in Latin America

What do you think of the Gaming Colombia event? Did you meet your expectations and goals?

Gaming Colombia really exceeded our expectations both in terms of academic and business opportunities. We had the chance to learn more about the current market trends and to meet the most important players in the country. The visitors and the gaming authorities gave Habanero a very warm welcome and loved our products as well as our brand, plus we closed some crucial deals.

What were the topics discussed in the forum that most interested you?

Every debate I had the chance to listen to was interesting because of the topics discussed and the outstanding panelists, but one about regulation was particularly useful. I also appreciated enormously the speech of Fecoljuegos’ President Evert Montero, exhorting and warning the international companies illegitimately operating in Colombia to obtain the proper licences in order to compete equally and pay taxes in the country.

Is it the first time you participate in an event in Latin America?

Yes, and I am very pleased we chose that event for our debut in Latin America. The organization was flawless and there was incredible balance between conferences and networking space in a decision-makers context. The footfall was remarkable and gathered all the Colombian gaming community who had the chance to experience our world of sheer gaming.

How do you see the Colombian market and what is the company's interest in it?

We believe the Colombian market has a lot to offer both in terms of its size and incredible gaming culture, but also in terms of stability of the regulation. We want to bring our proven gaming experience to it, which is why we are dedicating a lot of our efforts to the country. We have already  certified 55 games to date and counting.

What are the goals of the company in Colombia from here to the rest of the year?

We have already signed with some of the most important operators and will soon launch our products on one of the biggest in the whole of Latin America. It is an honour to make our first appearance in the Colombian market with an eminent brand and respected partner. More will follow soon, as we are in negotiations with other major operators and have other surprises in store.

Are you scheduled to participate in any other industry event?

Our agenda is packed at the moment. To mention some events by name in the next few months, we will be at CasinoBeats London in September, SAGSE Buenos Aires and SIGMA Malta in November. We will also be in Rome for the EGR Italy Awards in October, where we have been nominated in three categories. Fingers crossed for Habanero!
