Innovation, networking and regulatory focus in Latin America according to Belatra Games at SBC Summit Latin America
⏱ 3 min read
(Miami, Exclusive SoloAzar) - Andrés Troelsen, Commercial Director of Belatra Latin America, shared with us his vision on the impact of SBC Summit Latin America, the presentation of its new products, and the importance of adapting to the trends and regulatory frameworks in the region.
This edition of the SBC Summit Latin America represented a unique opportunity for Belatra Games, as for the first time, part of the team travelled to participate in the event. According to Andrés Troelsen, Commercial Director of Belatra Games Latin America, it was a ‘highly positive’ experience. He also highlighted the profile of the attendees, such as ‘decision makers and C-level executives: “an audience that we certainly target and where other types of talks are given”.
The impact of the event went beyond networking. ‘Fairs such as the SBC Summit play a very important role in shaping the direction of our product development,‘ said the commercial director, who also highlighted the relevance of the conferences and the topics addressed at them: “in an industry that evolves practically on a daily basis, it is key to continue learning from the most relevant voices that shape the future of the industry on issues such as emerging markets, technology, or regulatory cohesion”.
Returning to the topic of networking, Troelsen emphasised the intensity of the conference due to the multiple opportunities to interact with peers, clients and potential partners: “We have been able to talk with colleagues from countries such as Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Peru, etc.”. An experience that undoubtedly consolidates the firm's position in the regional panorama.
In relation to the new products presented during the fair, and the response of the attendees, Troelsen highlighted the occasion to present two new launches and detailed the following: "we launched two new games “Café Pin up” and “Tortuga Codex”, always focused on offering a variety of games in terms of themes, attractive aesthetics and based on the data we obtain from the games that generate the most interest in our audiences. We always emphasize that we are ‘player-centric’ and create our products by leveraging our audience data that combine player nostalgia with new and fresh themes. Being 100% focused on LATAM allows us to understand the behaviours and preferences of our players to offer them products that go in that direction. The response was very positive because you can see the evolution of our games in terms of graphics, usability, effects, music, which are the result of seeing where the trends and preferences of our audience are going”.

On addressing opportunities and trends within the Latin American market, as well as how they adapt their products to the region's diverse cultural preferences, Andrés Troelsen shared his thoughts and analysis on the topic: "Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity remain among the top technology trends, for example. We identified a growing demand for speed and responsiveness in modern iGaming experiences by interacting with industry leaders and studying emerging trends. Another trend globally, and especially in Latin America, is the preference for mobile devices. iGaming vendors focusing on this region should make their products compatible with mobile devices. As mobile dependency is huge in LATAM. And something we have also been seeing in the last few shows is the incorporation of Augmented and Virtual Reality that enrich the gaming experience by making it more vivid and real. These are trends that we are watching closely to add to our offering in the near future."
Referring to regulatory compliance in the regional market, the last part of the interview with Andrés Troelsen addressed how Belatra Games faces this challenge in emerging countries such as Brazil. He explained that the company maintains a constant agenda to get familiar itself with the legal frameworks of each country in the region: “We have been working on the certification of our games in Peru and Brazil, which are two very key markets”, thus reaffirming the company's commitment to its consolidation in the region.
