(Spain, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Bernhard Teuchman, Managing Director, Product and Technology Division, Novomatic, granted an interview to SoloAzar, in which he spoke about his expectations for upcoming FIJMA, the novelties and Novomatic strategies and goals for the current year.

What are your desires and expectations for the next FIJMA edition, in which the global gaming community will meet again face to face?


First of all, we are very happy to welcome our customers again in person during the FIJMA trade show. It has been a long time without this kind of events and I think it is necessary to come back to a certain level of normality.

We expect all our main customers from the Spanish market to visit us but there might also be some visitors from other countries due to the recent developments around the London show this year. We look forward to celebrating an event of technological progress, showing all the force of innovation of our sector.

Which novelties will Novomatic present at FIJMA?


Our main focus is on the Spanish AWP market, however we will show some international NOVOMATIC casino machines at the show. We will present new models for bars, NOVOMATIC and GiGames branded, such as NOVO LINE Power Cash, Impera Cash and Macarena. For the arcade segment we will introduce a new brand, APEX, an adaptation of the big success Clover Link to the Spanish arcade requirements. In addition, we have new arcade products from NOVOMATIC and, for the first time, a complete sports betting solution for the Spanish market called ADMIRAL Bet.  


How do you analyze the current situation of the gaming market in Spain and in Europe in general?


Of course, the pandemic caused a very negative impact on land-based gaming all over Europe and also in Spain during the last two years, but since summer 2021, we see some positive signs of recovery and our customers are highly motivated to take off again and to offer the latest technology. There is some political pressure on gaming in Spain which might affect the expansion strategies of some operators but, in general, we are very optimistic with respect to 2022.


Which are the firm's strategies and goals for 2022?


Our goal here in Spain is to keep growing and become the leading technology partner for our customers. We do not want to be a simple gaming equipment provider, we seek a strategic cooperation with our customers to help them anticipating new developments and to be always at the leading edge with our innovative products and solutions.
