(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive).-Sebastián Salazar, CEO of ProntoPaga, tells us all the news about the company specializing in fast payments at Peru Gaming Show 2024.

Sebastián Salazar, CEO of Prontopaga, explains why PGS 2024 is important for the company

To start the game, we spoke with Sebastián Salazar CEO of ProntoPaga about the news and trends they have presented at Peru Gaming Show 2024. He explained to us that “ProntoPaga is the leading company in fast payments in the region for the gambling industry. In Peru we are averaging payments for end users between 20 and 25 minutes in their checking accounts. Soon, we will implement payments in your digital wallets, which will be instant. We offer this same type of solutions in Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil and other Latin American countries.”

Then we wanted to know about the feedback from visitors and attendees at the show, and Sebastián remarked that “The reception was extraordinary. I believe that having the best and most robust payout solution in the region has been widely valued by the players in each market. For us, it is essential to stay at the forefront of solutions for the sector and we believe that the industry in general has understood that value. It also caught our attention that several operators are expanding their services to other markets and this is very good since by increasing competition, the experience for end customers also improves.”

How important is the Peruvian market for ProntoPaga?

“For ProntoPaga, Peru is one of the main countries in the region. Therefore, we have invested around USD 250 thousand dollars to start our operations, 50% of which we have allocated to processes that directly and indirectly impact the technology that supports the company. In the long term, we hope that the Peruvian market will become the main one, only behind Brazil”.

How does the recent regulation in Peru impact the online sector? What opportunities and challenges have arisen as a result of this change in your company?

Peru is a very important gaming market in the region. It has been in existence for several years, the physical version of which was developed through protection appeals for a couple of decades, until it was finally regulated. The new online regulations address aspects of the game that were not previously covered. Peru has been a leading country in the adoption of certain technologies that allow for easy payments and this has had a very important impact, especially post-pandemic. In terms of gambling, the new regulation has allowed some progress, such as collection, location of companies, definition of participants, issuance of the first licenses, authorization and approval of linked service providers. Likewise, it has served to define the means of payment that the system tolerates in its regulatory definition, which, for example, has excluded cryptocurrencies, among others”.

Finally, we wanted to know: How do you see the growth of the iGaming industry in Latin America?

“I have had to comment on it in various forums, I think the next 5 years will be very exciting for the Region. Sectoral regulations are advancing throughout Latam, both from the point of view of online betting and also from the point of view of Fintech offer. This means that there is greater legal certainty to make investments in both sectors, which will necessarily impact a substantial improvement in supply. This will translate into greater openness of Banks and Investment Funds on the one hand and, on the other, that all payment solutions are available, which will logically open new collection channels, especially from digital sources.”
