´For sportsbook, we now have a live coverage of more than 90,000 events already per month´

(Armenia, SoloAzar Exclusive).- SoloAzar interviewed Tigran Sharafyan, Head of International Markets for Digitain, who anticipated the novelties that the firm will present at GAT show in Colombia next month. "We are in the process of setting up a new LatAm commercial unit," he added.
What novelties will you present at GAT show? What expectations do you have for the new edition?
At Digitain, we are constantly working on developing our range of products in multiple directions. For sportsbook, which is our main product of focus, we now have a live coverage of more than 90,000 events already per month. This would not have been possible without the efforts from product and IT teams to assure an outstanding system stability especially in cases when we trade more than 400 live events at the same time.
Development of new features is another important direction for us. Just to mention one, we have recently introduced our new bet slip which now has much more functionalities that were not supported previously and it provides a much better user experience. The good thing about this is that it was firstly integrated with our localized LatAm interface of sportsbook which makes out LatAm facing product more complete.
How do you see the current situation of the Colombian games of chance market, and Latin America, in general?
Over the last years, Colombia has become a really saturated market. With 2 operators having about 70-80% of the market share the entry for newcomers has become more and more challenging. By that I mean if in some other LatAm countries, where the proportion of market share is not so biased towards big businesses, more small and mid-size B2C operators will sign up to start a business which increases the demand for product and benefits B2B sector as well.
In my view, a country such as Colombia will need a separate approach for the B2B sector which is to ensure product requirements of a really high quality and value which will justify for big operators to make migration. Same applies to startups with big budgets - you need to be very effective to confidently start business within this market. Digitain is really investing a lot in product research and development and hopefully our participation in GAT this year will become game changing for us in terms of new business from Colombia.
Which are the main goals of the company and the challenges it faces for 2022?
If we specifically talk about LatAm, our main goal for this year is to accomplish all key product development targets which aim to make our product even more comprehensive and suitable for LatAm businesses. I also want to mention about the establishment of our own LatAm-facing commercial unit that we are in the process of setting up and which will provide an important contribution to Digitain’s future success in this important region.
