76 million Mexicans play games of chance games

There are different reasons why a person can buy a lottery ticket; however, improving the quality of life is the main factor to participate in this type of gambling.

In Mexico, around 76 million people constantly participate in the gambling industry, for which an increase of 15% is expected for this year.

Every year the National Lottery sells more than 18 billion pesos in lottery tickets

The National Lottery carries out around 290 monthly draws, selling more than 18 billion pesos (mdp) in lottery tickets per year, awarding prizes of up to 9 billion pesos.

In 2022 alone, more than 57 million winners were registered, ranging from cash-out prizes to the famous “jackpot prize”. They register prizes of up to 480 million pesos in Mexico

According to Margarita González Sarvia, General Director of the National Lottery, the last prize that was awarded ranged between 480 million pesos, and prizes have even been awarded for a total of 9 billion pesos.

Some users who have bought a lottery ticket say that a prize of approximately 13 and a half million pesos is currently being played, which they would use for their children.

However, in Mexico, games of chance cross borders, as there is access to international lotteries, offering the possibility of winning unimaginable amounts.
