Argentina: 14 provinces already regulate online gaming

(Argentina).- Online gaming is one of the digital entertainments which have grown the most in the latest years. However, many Latin American countries still do not make progress in its regulation.

Argentina: 14 provinces already regulate online gaming

In Argentina, the situation is a bit more complex, because it is the only country which divides the regulation per provinces. Currently, 14 Argentine provinces already regulate online gaming, while others do not even consider them within their debates.

Nowadays, all the Argentine provinces have a regulatory entity in charge of setting the norms for the games of chance. However, just 14 of them, among them the City of Buenos Aires, regulate online gaming:

    Buenos Aires
    City of Buenos Aires
    San Luis
    Misiones
    Chaco
    Neuquén
    Tucumán
    Entre Ríos
    Río Negro
    La Pampa
    Santa Cruz
    Mendoza
    Corrientes
    Santa Fe

As some of the regulations are very recent, not all of them have operational online casinos. However, the rest do have their own platforms that, in general, are an extension of the casinos that operate on a physical level.

The advantages of regulating online gambling
First of all, the main advantage of regulating online gambling is the protection of the players. Players who participate in casinos that have licenses to operate have the certainty that it is a completely safe site. This means that they are not at risk of being scammed, nor do they need to worry about identity theft. The regulatory entities in charge of granting licenses verify that the casinos comply with all the requirements established by law.

On the other hand, regulating gambling also represents a great advantage for the country because this implies tax collection. The casinos pay the corresponding taxes for operating and the government of each province can use the funds obtained as it considers. Thus, the money collected from the game can be used to improve other sectors, such as education or health.

Finally, the fact that online casinos are regulated means that they can better serve players. First of all, they can offer users bonuses, promotions and free spins for participating in the casino. As a regulatory body verified the legitimacy of the site, the player is confident that they will receive all the offers promoted by the platform. They can also be sure that if they have a problem or dispute, the casino will respond quickly to fix it.

In Argentina, there are already 14 provinces that regulate online gambling. Although the Argentine situation is complex, this represents a great advance for the online casino industry in our region. The regulation has numerous advantages, both for the country and for the players, so the remaining provinces should follow the same initiative and, at least, consider it among their debates. If Argentina does not unify its regulation, it is essential that all provinces establish laws to regulate online gambling.
