(Macau).- Analysts from Sanford C. Bernstein lowered their estimates for expected gross gaming revenues year-on-year growth in June to between 1 or 3 per cent, having previously estimated a 3 to 5 per cent rise this month.
According to the brokerage, some MOP738 million (US$91.4 million) in average daily revenues have been recorded in the first 16 days of June, less two per cent year-on-year, as VIP gaming volume is estimated to be down mid-single digits with lower than normalized hold.
Nevertheless, Bernstein maintained that it expected that heading into June and July, yearly comparisons will begin to ease, since gaming revenues were quite robust in early 2018 until US-China trade tensions heightened during the summer.
Macau gross gaming revenues increased 1.8 per cent year-on-year in May 2019 to MOP25.9 billion.
