How is the firm preparing for the market reopening?

Konami is working proactively to support its global casino customers. Many have encountered extended closures, emerging safety standards, and new reopening requirements. As a result, they have a lot of important questions and considerations about gaming equipment. Konami is working in close contact to advice its customers on these matters in advance. We have issued Slot Machine Cleaning Instructions and a list of Game Restart Considerations. Konami and its exclusive distributors are working to ensure appropriate spare parts are in supply and slot technicians are available to assist. In terms of casino property visits, Konami is working together with its distributors to ensure a consistent standard of safety for sales and service personnel. This standard of safety includes advance communication with casino properties to ensure we are compliant with property-specific standards. We understand that circumstances can change rather quickly, so close communication is essential.

Which are the greatest challenges that you had to face in these 4 months of pandemic?

One of the greatest challenges is keeping everyone motivated, engaged, and openly communicating, despite that many are working from home. Konami understands it is not easy, so we are focused on doing our part to be supportive. We want our casino customers to know: We’ve got you. Whether it’s a service need, floor restructure, or creative merchandising solution, Konami and its exclusive distributors are ready to assist. Step by step, our industry must strive to recover, so we continue to provide safe, regulated entertainment to communities across the globe.

What are your expectations for the near future?

We expect that casinos will gradually reopen and return to regular business in time. Our industry will overcome this challenge, learn from it, and be better prepared for similar situations in the future. In the immediate term, Konami is ready to support as markets reopen. We are keeping customer communication, keeping people motivated, and keeping strong to support others.
