Spain: Citizens have lost 49 billion euros in the gaming sector in 10 years

(Spain).-Citizens have lost 49.196,6 million euros in the gaming sector in 10 years. This number increases when you consider expenses in the different industries associated to the gambling sector. People spend money on casinos, bingos, gambling venues, however, the 60% of the money has been spent in slots, it means 29.571,9 million euros.
Almost 7 billion have been spent in bingo halls, 5,800 in gambling venues, more than 3,2 million in casinos and more than 1,600 on sportsbooks.
From every 10 euros gambled, 6 belong to the type of machines located in hostelling houses. Internet betting increased a 441% in the last seven years.
However, despite the figure, the tendency is for this type of bet to decrease slowly while, on the contrary, face-to-face sports betting and online betting are increasing more and more. In fact, the plays that are made through the internet have increased 441% in the last 7 years. The proliferation of bookmakers has a lot to do with this phenomenon.
On topof the 49 billion euros spent in the gaming sector, state lottery betting increased to 45,000 million. Favourite bets in Spain are:
And the favorite bets of the Spaniards: national lottery, primitive, quinigol, equestrian and primitive bets. In this last game more than 17,000 million have been spent.
In total, between private and public games, 95,133.6 million euros is what the Spaniards have totally lost in 10 years, since this result comes out of subtracting the prizes they did get with their bets.
Most of them, 6 out of 10 euros, on slot machines installed in bars throughout Spain.
