VIP gaming results rise by 16 pct q-to-q in Q1

(March).- VIP gaming results reported in the first three months of this year, represented by VIP Baccarat, have increased by 16.7 per cent quarter to quarter to MOP9.1 billion (US$1.1 billion), data published by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) reveals.
Between January and March, VIP results accounted for about 38.6 per cent of the total MOP23.6 billion generated in casino gaming revenues, a small improvement from the record low 34.6 share VIP income held in the last quarter of last year.
Meanwhile, revenue generated by slot machines and other casino games in the first quarter of this year has increased by some 2 per cent to MOP14.5 billion, of which mass baccarat represented 83 per cent and slot machines 8 per cent.
Macau-wide, revenue from games of fortune grew in the first quarter of 2020 from MOP22.02 billion to MOP23.6 billion.
Visitation figures have been increasing steadily in 2021, with the latest results a continuation of this positive movement, with the highest number of visitor arrivals since the beginning of the pandemic reported on April 16, about 34,353 visitors.
