Brazilian's treasury to ban betting sites without authorisation starting 1st October

(Brasilia).- According to an ordinance published by the Ministry of Finance, from next month onwards, only the betting sites companies with prior authorization can be able to operate int the country.

The Secretariat for Prizes and Betting, linked to the Ministry of Finance, published an ordinance in the Federal Official Gazette on Tuesday (17) that will ban the operation of betting sites without authorisation or that have not applied to the federal government. 

Betting sites will only be able to operate with prior authorisation to be issued by the agency itself. To do this, companies must submit to the ministry the respective internet domains where they will provide the service during the adaptation period by 30 September. 

The publication also establishes that the companies must withdraw their prize deposits by 10 October.
