⏱ 2 min read
(Chile).- The Casino Superintendence presented last Thursday the presential public account of the institution, in which it informed the results of the management developed in 2018 and released the main challenges for the 2019-2022 period.
The head of the entity, Vivien Villagrán, remarked the task performed around assessing the public value of the territorial offer, the compliance of the norm, the operation and mitigate the negative effects on the users, the environment and the community.
“We continue with the work which seeks to strengthen our task in a way that our performance improves in efficiency and quality, seeking for the greatest sinlessness on our legal mandate," declared the Superintendent.
It is in line with the process of the strategic planification started by SCJ during 2017, an instance in which, on top of establishing the strategic goals, value proposals were defined, among which there are the following: relevate the public value of the territories, consider the compliance of the norm and the operation, mitigate the negative effects on the users, the environment and the community.
LOCAL CASINOS On the public account, the casino licensing process was treated, relevating the authorization in five of the seven councils with local casinos (Iquique, Coquimbo, Viña del Mar, Pucón and Puerto Varas).
RESPONSIBLE GAMING
In the activity, the SCJ informed improvements in promotion of responsible gaming, among with there are the self-exclusion notice, which, although was published during the current year, it started its updating process in 2018. This new notice grants the power to casinos to prevent the entrance of the self-excluded, on top of the entrance control that they will have to perform at the entrance of the venue.
The new norm establishes that the voluntary self-exclusion subscribed will have validity regarding all the casinos in the country, and not only on the casino where the self-exclusion notice is presented, as it happens now.
Regarding illegal gaming, the Superintendence highlighted the technical support to the Financial Sub-Secretary to prepare the indication to the bill which boosts the prohibition of the commercial operation of games of chance machines outside legal casinos, increasing the criminal punishment and incorporating the illegal gaming offense to the catalogue of crimes based on asset laundering.
