(Pennsylvania).- Strong growth in online gaming and sports betting helped the Keystone State post nearly $257 million in gaming tax revenue

Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Rises 6% to $591 Million in July 2026

Pennsylvania’s regulated gaming market generated $591.1 million in total revenue during July 2026, marking a 5.99% year-on-year increase, as iGaming and sports wagering continued to drive statewide growth, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).

The PGCB reported that all forms of gaming—including retail and online casino gaming, sports betting, video gaming terminals (VGTs) and fantasy contests—produced $591,090,324 in revenue during the month, up from $557.7 million in July 2025. The activity generated $256.8 million in tax revenue for the Commonwealth.

iGaming remains the largest growth engine

Online casino gaming continued to be Pennsylvania’s strongest-performing segment, producing $249 million in revenue, a 9.09% increase from the same month last year.

The biggest contribution came from iGaming slots, which climbed 12.41% to $199.2 million, while online table games generated $47.4 million. iPoker revenue declined 7.14% to $2.3 million.

Among operators, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led the online market with $97 million, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort at $70.1 million and Rivers Casino Philadelphia with $40.5 million.

Sports betting posts double-digit gains

Pennsylvania sportsbooks also delivered another strong month, with betting handle reaching $509.5 million, up 23.53% year-on-year.

Taxable sports wagering revenue rose 27.75% to $51.8 million, led by Valley Forge Casino Resort, which generated $21.1 million, and Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, with $14.4 million.

The figures underline the continued expansion of the state’s online sportsbook sector, which accounted for the vast majority of wagering revenue.

Retail gaming delivers mixed results

Traditional casino gaming showed a more balanced performance. Retail slot machines generated $213.7 million, increasing 2.48% from July 2025, while the number of slot machines in operation rose slightly to 24,561 statewide.

Retail table games, however, fell 5.07% to $72.4 million, reflecting softer performance at several of the state’s largest casinos despite notable gains at properties including Live! Casino Philadelphia and Hollywood Casino at the Meadows.

Overall, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course remained Pennsylvania’s highest-grossing casino with $111.5 million in total gaming revenue, narrowly ahead of Valley Forge Casino Resort at $103.4 million.

Fantasy contests and new properties add momentum

Fantasy sports revenue surged 35.49% to $803,119, with DraftKings and FanDuel recording the strongest year-over-year growth among major operators.

Meanwhile, Happy Valley Casino, which opened in April 2026, contributed $2.5 million in July revenue, adding a new source of growth to Pennsylvania’s expanding regulated gaming market.
