(Buenos Aires).- Government of the City of Buenos Aires promoted an international tender in order to change the system with which draws are made in Buenos Aires Lottery (Lotba).

Argentina: Buenos Aires government aims to replace traditional pools barrels

Lotba, the state society created to assume the tasks that were in charge of the National Lottery, seeks to incorporate two computers with the necessary hardware and software to registrate all the bets and make automated RNG (Random Number Generator) draws, leaving behind popular barrels.

In practical terms, the acquisition of these terminals would replace the draws as they were performed so far, by an automated process which, in milliseconds, will inform the winning numbers and the quantity of hits.

"The five barrels currently in force will be replaced. An operator will press a button and, in less than five seconds, we will have the winning numbers of the lottery," explained a source connected to the tender process.

If computers are acquired, they will be used in any of the phases of the organization of at least 14 daily draws (the four lotteries in the City of Buenos Aires, four in Buenos Aires Province, four in Santa Fe, four in Montevideo). They will also be used for popular LOTO and other contests that are made at least once a week.
