(Mexico).- Modern, digital, connected to the Internet and driven by young people. The industry of tomorrow is the one that looks at the gaming universe. The features are just right, the identikit is perfectly in tune with our times, an era in which speed, connection and technology play a key role.

40% of the worldwide population passionate about online gaming

"More than 40% of the world's population uses video games, practically 3,100 million people. Almost half of our planet, in a few words. An impressive figure that cannot fail to translate into a huge economic movement for all States", explains Lamberto Rinaldi, a journalist for the Italian website Gaming Insider.

To explain the success of this sector and try to analytically describe its ascending parabola, we can take one of its subsets as a model and example: gambling. In online gambling, the figures speak of unprecedented growth, which with the pandemic has also become definitive.

“Now the game goes more and more through digital and interactive channels. This change has been possible thanks to a great investment of the gaming operators in the creation of applications, websites and platforms dedicated and adapted to mobile devices, as well as a special attention to the world of responsible communication and marketing.” points out the Gaming Insider expert. “In fact, bookmakers have focused on expanding their palimpsests and on strategies such as bonuses to increase the number of their users and increase their audience. The same is true, at a broader and more general level, in the universe of video games, where new fans are driven by new game possibilities, but also by innovative communication and visibility systems”, concludes Rinaldi.

In this veritable "gaming rush", there is one market in particular that is registering the most impressive growth rates. We are talking about Latin America, which was one of the subcontinents with the highest turnover in 2022. This is indicated by Statista, which indicates that, only in Brazil, the volume of gambling business exceeded 1.3 billion dollars, and Mexico was in second place, with 1,170 million. Significant growth, but with figures below 500 million, for Chile, Colombia and Argentina. Countries that are increasingly emerging as the frontier of the game.
