(Bogotá).- Colombia has become the country with the highest increase over the online gambling and mainland casinos.
Being the pioneer in Latin American region, its laws and regulations have managed to adapt to the market where they got the balance to benefit the players and both the State and companies.
Every year the industry reaches a new upturn, and this growth is well represented by gambling. Enough to visit sites like SrCasino in order to know the wide range of igaming being offered by authorized operators in Colombia and the great popularity the games like slots, bingo and blackjack have.
Gambling growth in last semester
Every year the Colombian gaming regulator, “Coljuegos”, publishes quarterly, semiannual and annual reports on the results of the games.
Since 2019 the industry has grown by leaps and bounds and although the first quarter of 2020 had degrowth a little, by the end of the first quarter of that year the growth was 148%. 2021 was also a good year for the industry, but the first historical upturn was in the first half of 2022.
From January 2022 to June, the gaming sector registered a revenue of USD 80.129.790 million, which represents an increase by the 22% compared to the same time the previous year. Online Gambling represented 32% of that revenue.
Numbers above shows that iGaming authorized in the country such as slots, bingo and card games continue growing historically, in fact, mainland casinos are also at a key moment of increase.
Other games also had an important contribution on the revenue: established casinos represented 42%. Super Astro contributed with 16%, Baloto Revancha contributed with 9%, while promotional games barely represented 1%.
All these games had a total contribution on sales of plus 33% compared to last year and estimates indicate that for the last semester of 2022 revenues may exceed USD 111.371.500 million.
To what the iGaming growth due to?
One of the main reasons why online casino games experience greater growth is because “Coljuegos” developed a plan with the aim of promoting the guild, supporting new companies and creating collaborations.
In addition, with a regulated industry and in-progress economy, every day more Colombians experience the fun of the iGaming, as they feel secure, and it is an accessible entertainment. Also, a good part of the active gamers are being encouraged to visit the casinos.
“Coljuegos” has taken it upon itself to penalize all those platforms that operate illegally in the country and also so far this year it has closed more than 188 establishments that offered clandestine gambling.
