Strong Rise: Panama Tops $500 Million in Bets in Just Two Months

(Panama City).- The market grows 15.6% year-on-year and reflects a sustained change in players' habits, with a strong role for online platforms.
Gross bets on games of chance in Panama reached $501.9 million between January and February 2026, marking a growth of 15.6% compared to the same period in 2025, when $434.4 million were recorded.
The data confirms the sustained expansion of the sector, driven mainly by the increased use of slot machines and the advance of digital betting platforms, which continue to gain ground in consumer behavior.
The growth numbers
In the monthly breakdown, January led with $259.3 million, while February registered $242.6 million, which represents a decrease of $16.7 million in the month-on-month comparison. However, the general level remains above the previous year, evidencing a dynamic start to the year.
Within the total, type "A" slot machines are consolidated as the main driver of the market, with $359.2 million bet, which is equivalent to more than 70% of the total.
