(New York).- Cockroach Labs has been tapped by one of the world's leading online betting operators, Kindred Group, to further the development of a truly resilient, agile, and compliant global online gambling platform. Kindred manages on average over 30 million financial transactions a day - comparable to companies such as PayPal - and needs to ensure every transaction (e.g., bets placed in real time) is accurate, immediate, and secure. Using CockroachDB, an ultra-resilient SQL database for global business, Kindred is deploying a first of its kind, globally distributed platform that uses multi-active data centers to provide a world-class experience to its 24 million customers.

With CockroachDB, Kindred will be able to quickly deploy data centers closer to their ever-expanding customer base around the globe, significantly improving the gambling experience while ensuring the flexibility required in a constantly evolving and complex compliance environment. Kindred will also improve its resilience to data center failures, while seamlessly scaling its platform across markets and brands, all while ensuring compliance with changing global regulations, such as GDPR and other regional data restrictions.

Kindred's current architecture allows Kindred to scale well within one data center where this new platform will add the capability to scale geographically more rapidly. CockroachDB scales and replicates transactional data across data centers, even across the globe, to put information closer to customers to ensure even the most time-sensitive transactions can occur without error or delay.
